AEGD Residency

Since July 2014, Interfaith Dental has been a clinical training site for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program, through a partnership with NYU Langone Health. NYU Langone Health serves as the educational sponsor of this postdoctoral dental residency training program. The program’s goal is to ensure access and equity in oral health care for all underserved communities around the globe. NYU Langone’s AEGD program educates approximately 250 dental residents each year by placing them around the country in designated sites. Interfaith currently hosts four resident positions. This full-time, year-long program provides residents with a stipend, and full details are available here.

OMS Vanderbilt Residents

Since 1998, Interfaith Dental has been in partnership with the Vanderbilt University’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as a clinical rotation site.  Vanderbilt’s residency program offers both four and six-year tracks, and Interfaith hosts one OMS resident at a time (typically 3-5 residents rotate through Interfaith’s clinics throughout any given year).  The OMS residents provide Interfaith a unique opportunity to offer IV-sedation for patients in need of that service as well as more complex surgical dental procedures (under the mentorship of dedicated local volunteer surgeon attendings). The OMS resident spends 1-2 days/week at Interfaith’s Murfreesboro locatino, and the remaining 3-4 days in the Nashville clinic.
